Earth Hour

**Update (3/29/09): As I was walking through the dark house, making sure all lights were off last night, I asked Anastasia if she needed her nightlight on. She said, "No, you can just turn it back on in the morning." So, we were able to participate in Earth Hour as a family. Pretty cool. While Jason and I were waiting for Anastasia to fall asleep, we played cards. We don't play nearly as often as we did before becoming parents, and I don't think we've ever played by candlelight!
There is a very cool website with pictures of cities "turning off" at the start of Earth Hour. Just click on the pictures to see the lights go out. Some are really beautiful.**

With the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote, Vote Earth is a global call to action for every individual, every business and every community to acknowledge climate change. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet.
Turn off your lights and other electrical devices from 8:30 to 9:30, local time, on Saturday, March 28th. Please, watch this video for inspiration, sign up by clicking the banner at the top of this page, and then think of all the fun things you can do by candlelight...
